Interviewing Customers No. 3

For my interviews i decided to get feedback on multiple age groups to see how they would take my app differently. For the most part they liked it, and there was some constructive criticism to go along with it which was nice. The only thing is that people dont really understand the idea too well and it took alot of extra explaining for them to understand just how exatly it works. That is something im going to have to work on in order to make my idea popular, hopefully with a better demonstration/ prototype. Basically people dont understand why they would need something on their phone that holds receipts when their already getting paper and throwing it away. The idea of this app is to completely eliminate the paper used in retailers and making the receipt process 100% digital. This way you can reject receiving a receipt and still save the paper because the receipt is not being printed gratuitously.

  1. Hey Nahel,

I like your idea because it eliminates the unnecessary waste of paper and also helps keep your receipts in one place in case you want to return a product you bought. Nevertheless, it seems like it would be really hard to implement it on a bigger scale. Also, the girl in the third interview is smoking. 2. Hey Nahel!

As I said before, I love the idea you have come up with and I think it was great idea that you asked for feedback with a good amount of variety! It really does help put things into perspectives and it helps you understand what you need to do to make your idea that much better! Our idea a tad different, but they both have to do with the improvement of customer service and total efficiency. i love the idea. Keep up the great work!

  3. Hey Nahel
I love your blot title btw, when it comes too your product I feel the most difficult aspect is making it easy or automatic to use or else it will just be another free app that has 50 different versions. Personally I like of technology is allowing us to better document and keep track of important information. I hate paper receipts being as a recently found out they are not recyclable and hazardous since they can transfer BPA into the blood through skin contact. 4. Hi Nahel, I really like how you conducted your interviews by interviewing different market segments, varying by age. I think your idea can really work and be put to use because so much paper gets wasted this way, and not many people care to have a physical copy of a receipt. I didn’t get to this assignment but you can check out my blog at http://tristansentblog.blogspot.com.

  5. I love this idea. There are a few apps that already kind of do this but you could still make this work for what you are trying to do as well. I want some to make an app that goes across all merchant services/ cash register systems that allows the option to send the receipt into a receipt app that people can download. Reason why is, although the apps exist sometimes when you’re in a rush or moving too fast you may not stop to put the receipt in a good place therefore you don’t even have it to put on the app. If all the cash registers and merchant services were on the same systems then they would all give that option to have it sent to the app that is on your phone. I do my budget once a month and at that time (in a perfect world) I would want to see what it is I am spending my money on. If all the receipts are already in the app, this is a no brainier. Just a thought

  6. Hi Nahel
I really enjoyed your blog post. I thought it was really interesting how you went about doing your interviews. Using varying age groups was a great idea! One thing that really stood out to me is how authentic the feedback you received seemed to be. I think you have a really cool concept and I can't wait to see you polish it up.I think it would be tremendously useful in everyday life, and it has a lot of potential for growth.

  7. Wow Nahel! I really like the idea you have but I feel like it needs to me more authentic. Your customers appear to be from a wide range of demographics which will allow you to create a product that will appeal to all. I do think it is a bit of a difficult idea to grasp but you should be able to enhance your idea through the opinions of those that you interviewed. Keep up the good work!

  8. Hello Nahel,

First I would like to start by saying that I think your idea to create an app that records all of your receipts would be extremely useful and necessary, not just for college students; this app is handy for all ages of people making purchases. I liked your interview style, as it was very different than mine. It was great that you had varying ages in your videos, showcasing broad potential this app has. I think you should try to work out the kinks and be very specific at this stage about your opportunity.

I didn't do this assignment but here is my blog:

  9. Nahel,

I love how you decided to use different age groups to pursue the total market, in hopes of finding out different ideas and opinions from people in different stages of life. Your interviews are really well done and the questions are giving you good ideas to move forward with. If you get a chance, check out my blog at: http://usingmediaforgodsglory.blogspot.com/

  10. Hi Nahel, I think it was very smart to interview different age groups. A few of us have stuck with a relatively consistent demographic set, but you were able to mi it up. I think that adds to the breadth of the market that your product can address.

If you have some time check out my first interviews here.

  11. I think your idea is great. Your presentation of the idea falls a little short, and improving this can help you gain more support as well as better feedback. Interviewing different age groups was a good call. Maybe this is a product more useful to a certain demographic? Keep researching and I think you'll figure it out. Also you may want to check your spelling and grammar before you post. Overall, good job!

  12. Great Job Nahel. I think it was very smart to interview different age groups and ask people in different situations to get different perspective, I think this is especially important given that you want to use the environment angle so I think looking at different age groups is very important for that because they probably care different amounts. Great job!

  13. Nahel,
Your idea was wonderful and you could really save the planet here… nahel yeah! I loved the feedback your customers gave you. Keep working on this idea and you could have something really great. You did a good job of explaining the why behind your idea and I think that's what people need to understand it. I did not complete this assignment so I can't provide the link to my own blog.
