Elevator pitch No. 1

Hello! This is my video about my company "Paperless Solutions Inc.". My goal is to completely eliminate paper waste from receipts. My plan is to create an app that will scan a digital receipt onto the customers smart phone and store it on a digital cloud which would serve as proof of purchase and easily organize the receipts.

  1. Hi, Nahel. This is a really cool idea. It reminds me of a digital version of a desktop scanner that would save your receipts, so it is much more efficient. This could revolutionize how people do their taxes, especially if the app allows you to create a variety of folders to categorize your documents.

  2. Nahel,

This is a great 'green' idea as I throw receipts away constantly. An elevator pitch is not the easiest assignment, and I remember having to learn these years ago in sales training. I would suggest you remember to always have your pitches in three basic formats - set the agenda (opening) the pitch and then the closing or conclusion. It would also be good to make sure the person to whom you are talking understands what you are looking for from them. Funding, partners, ideas. Otherwise, they will never understand why you are even telling them about your idea.

Good luck with the app. You could probably get funding via a grant if you have a plan that will show the number of trees saved each year, etc.

  4. Nahel,

I work at Chick-Fil-A in the drive thru and I was just thinking about how so many people crumple up their receipts and throw them away. I am a fan of saving the environment and money and this idea would do both. I think that in your pitch it could have used more information on how you plan on telling people what they bought if they don't have a receipt.

  5. I think that this is a really cool concept! It solves a problem, while creating something new and very useful. Your elevator pitch was slightly over a minute, but that’s probably okay. You did a great job of explaining the problem and your solution. Next time try to have a more professional background. Here is a link to my elevator pitch if you want to check it out! http://thereseverything.blogspot.com/2016/02/theres-my-elevator-pitch-no-1.html

  6. One of the easiest things to do is to waste paper, which is a really bad thing to see. I think that your pitch and idea I think go to great lengths to reduce that, especially with such an everyday thing like getting a receipt. I think looking forward its imperative that you find organizations and companies that would be willing to take you on with this idea.

  7. Absolutely wonderful idea! Love how truly useful is actually is! I'm pretty sure the grand majority of us as soon as we receive a receipt, go straight to throw it away, or if you're like me, save all of them in your wallet or car and continue to accumulate and accumulate to where you have more receipts in your wallet than you do cash or cards! Love how green this plan is! Only suggestion would be to possibly give more background on yourself and add in some statistics like how many trees could possibly be saved.

I unfortunately did not do an elevator pitch, but please feel free to check out my Idea Napkin!
